Glazing: The French door is available with triple and double glazing. Triple glazing provides a superior thermal performance, helping to save on energy bills
Glass strip: The glass strip ensures the necessary contact pressure between the seals and the glazing
Steel reinforcement: Due to its built-in steel reinforcement, the frame is sturdy and hard to deform
Glass seal: The glass seal fills the gap between the pane and the frame, protecting the French door from water penetration
Sash design: The sash has a linear offset design
Sealing levels: Two levels of sealings provide excellent thermal and sound insulation
Profile chambers: The inside of the uPVC profile is divided into several chambers to achieve good thermal insulation

Quality standards
The 76 mm construction depth of the 5 chamber Kömmerling 76 AD profile creates enough space for both double or triple glazing to be chosen. Especially with triple glazing, the French door is ideal for contemporary low-energy homes as undesirable incoming or escaping heat is kept to a minimum, helping to maintain a comfortable stable interior temperature.
The profile can acheive an excellently low thermal insulation Uw-value of 0.81 W/m²K, for example. The thermal performance of uPVC trumps that of aluminium or wood and in the case of the Kömmerling 76 AD high-quality seals further contribute to this excellent insulation.
Two seals are used, for example, to reduce unwanted heat transfer and a further thermal edge seal, or “warm edge” can also be added in the configurator.
At windows24.com, Kömmerling French doors are available with different glazings to suit individual requirements and priorities. One option is purpose-designed security glass, which is ideal for first floor French doors, but also for models installed in balconies higher up, where there could be a fall hazard. Other glazing options then include opting for our soundproof glass to ensure peaceful interiors, or ornamental glazings which adds both functional privacy and interesting design. Whatever you decide, all options are clearly laid out and selectable in the configurator, making the Kömmerling 76 AD French door a flexible, bespoke choice.
Energy-efficient French doors with two seals, such as the Kömmerling 76 AD model, are not only about functionality, however. In our sophisticated configurator, a wide range of RAL colours are available which have the profile become a tasteful product in line with the latest design trends or your personal preferences. Wooden decors, such as our golden oak option, are also a popular choice for offset uPVC French doors. These high-quality coatings create a traditional timber surface look while the benefits of insulating, durable uPVC are retained.
