Aluminium doors are generally used because of their excellent durability. They are weather-resistant, robust, durable and require little care. Profiles made of sturdy aluminium are a good choice if you want to avoid regular up-keep and expensive repairs. Aluminium doors like the ALUPROF MB-70 also provide effective soundproofing and increased break-in protection, especially when combined with the appropriate security fittings. For example, break-in resistant glazing (e.g. laminated security glass) means that potential burglars will find it much harder to smash the pane of glass in your French doors.
Although aluminium itself has a high thermal conductivity, modern frames such as the MB 70 from ALUPROF are designed in such a way that the problem is circumvented. Indeed, new aluminium doors are manufactured in multiple layers, with frames that feature thermal breaks and additional insulation between the layers themselves. As a result, new alu French door frames like those from ALUPROF are of a very high quality when it comes to thermal insulation efficiency. For an exact specification of the thermal insulation, you can refer to the Uw value. The lower this is, the better the insulating properties. The thermal insulation capacity can be further improved by using special insulating inserts.
Left untreated, aluminium window frames like the MB 70 model would oxidize. Therefore, the surface is provided with a special finish. There are basically two different processes for this, some of which can be further specified: anodizing and powder coating.
Anodisation involves using an electrolytic process to add an oxide layer to the profile itself. This coating makes the material more weather-resistant, letting you enjoy an aluminium door that looks visually appealing for a very long time. There are several colour options in the windows24.com configuration tool.
In powder coating, a special powder – often epoxy or polyester resin – is applied to the pre-treated aluminium frame using an electrostatic process. This layer of powder is then melted and finally branded. There are countless options for colouring from standard to special colours.
The ALUPROF MB-70 is a modern aluminium profile with excellent acoustic and thermal insulation. It relies on a three-chamber profile for this.
