Available in both cooler and warmer tones, our light grey German windows and doors add contemporary style and sleek minimalism to property exteriors and chic interiors alike. Combinable with matching window bars, shutters, and a wide variety of functional and decorative glazings, the products can be custom-designed to perfectly suit your requirements and preferences.
For the metal clad exteriors of wood-alu and uPVC-alu windows, a light grey matt RAL 7035 or a structured decor, alpha metallic matt, can be chosen, for example. These options complement paler façades and work well with a timber or uPVC window interior in white wood or anthracite grey.
When it comes to a pure aluminium frame, on the other hand, customers often opt for the white aluminium RAL 9006 tone, which is applied to both sides of the window.
Putting aluminium and composite clad options aside, a wooden casement window offers the largest range of light grey colour tones. The finish is applied to both the interior and exterior face. Cool options include a telegrey 4 RAL 7047 whereas popular warmer shades are often the pebble grey RAL 7032 or silk grey 7044.
Apart from the available finishes, the material of window frames also influences certain functional characteristics of the product.
Light grey uPVC windows and doors, for example, are made from a particularly modern material and tend to come with a lower price tag. In addition, their smooth surfaces make them particularly low maintenance and, because their cores feature multiple built-in chambers that trap air, the windows can be particuarly good insulators.
Although wood, on the other hand, requires slightly more upkeep and can come with a higher price, the surfaces boast unparalleled charm and bespoke grain patterns. Beyond this, timber is also naturally sturdy and provides good soundproofing.
For customers after increased break-in protection and durability though, aluminium frames or the external cladding of wood-alu and uPVC-alu lead the range. During manufacturing we anodise the metal for example, which gives it excellent anti-rust and anti-corrosion properties. This means that the products effectively withstand the elements and come with very good impact resistance.
In addition to the frame material, choosing high-quality custom glass can impact the performance and final look of grey windows.
To add character while also providing privacy by restricting the view of onlookers, our casement windows can come with various decorative glass types, for example. A white frosted Satinato option is a popular choice, while the Cathedral Small finish adds an ornate feel.
Beyond style, glass can also have a significant impact on energy efficiency. Opting for triple rather than double glazing, for example, increases the number of panes and reduces energy loss via conduction. This can lower both carbon footprint and utitility bills by keeping the house at a comfortable temperature year-round.
In a similar way, glass with invisible foil interlayers or which has been tempered for increased flexibility, can also improve break-in protection via small adjustments during precise manufacturing.
To ideally tailor products to existing house architecture or design plans for new-builds, our windows and doors can feature optional extras.
Matching glazing bars can be added, for example. These can be applied to the glass' exterior, inserted between panes, or properly split the panel. Their thickness, number, and horizontal or vertical location can then similarly be determined.
Beyond bars that can add traditional design and interest, we also offer coloured roller shutters.
An innovative German invention, the shutters feature a customisable box installed above windows or doors, or rather concealed behind masonry. A coloured curtain then descends from this box, sliding along side guide rails.
As well as providing quality sun protection and additional break-in protection, the various parts of the shutter can be finished in various matching or contrasting anthracite grey or light tones, among other options. This can result in a very put together property façade.
